Biota_4

These days we are missing rain in Kerala, the plants suffer.

Daily I have to water the garden, but harvesting is not possible as last year, when we had plenty of different kind of pumpkin, kovaka, tomatoes, passionfruit …

Only capsicum, cashew and chili are growing and some few small tomatoes and rare tiny eggplant.

Cashew mango is very delicious …

At least some blossoms appear and feed our eyes …

… and some creatures can eat the flowers peacefully sharing!

Sunday 2.February 2013: 6th Children Class

This day, Fayana from Germany, a guest in our Sylviander House, joined curiously the 6th children class. Thanks to her, she gave us some of her photographs she has made.

Since everybody likes it so much, we started with the dance part. At first one boy performed a cinema dance for us.

Then we formed a big circle and I explained how to stand strongly, because the children had to close their eyes, while listening to an african music, and then to let their inner feeling tell to their body how to move …

It needs braveness to move freely. This kind of task might have been first try for these children. Interesting to watch was, how the youngest performed the most freedom, while some of the eldest stood like frozen having no idea what to do.

We will continue with this exercise next time …

As next I performed the bird‘s dance, which I have learnt 1981 in a longhouse in Borneo‘s deep rainforest.

That time decorated with fethers I had danced there together with an old king, while a group of kings from other longhouses played on their gongs.

The kids enjoyed with fun, afterwards trying to imitade my bird‘s dance.

So this day‘s theme was birds and butterflies!
Alexander asked the kids to remember the birds and butterflies they've seen in the trees around their houses and then to draw them.

Some sketched big birds or butterflys filling the full page, others draw small ones in a landscape …

As always, Alexander had to advice the children not to copy from their neighbors, but to bring their own imaginations on the paper.

To let the own inner voice speak, wether dancing or drawing, that is what we want to convey to the children. All days being programmed by school system and society, inborn genuine indiviuality and visions for fantasy wither. But having a fullfilled happy life, for that it is needed to aware the inner sensation.

After everybody finished their drawings, suddenly the children decided to have a look of the house upstairs. No doubt, that was the most wild and noisy part. Beside running around, in our room they could have a look at the painting of our 7 year old grandnephew Joyal, who once visiting us has made it with my watercolor still from my school time
I had framed it and it looks beautiful.

Finally we went downstairs back to the museum. There everybody could dance as a bird or as a butterfly inspired by an old folk song from South-Serbia.
Of course I joined happily, I love to fly …

It seems, I am the only one flying …?

With the time some small wings were growing …
Then little birds and butterflys appeared happily …
We will train in coming children classes, until every child knows how to fly – sometimes …
